Tags Of Love

 Hi my crafty friends, 

Today I am sharing my first project using the February 2025 Scrapbook Kit. If you haven't seen the new February Kits you need to check them out they have lots of fun goodies inside. And with that being said, I have a couple of beautiful chipboard tags I created using the Feb. Scrapbook and Mixed Media kit. I have the step by step down below with photos but I also have the video tutorial that shares more details. I have links throughout the post for everything I used.

Tag #1

To start off cover your tag with a piece of pattern paper. I usually place glue on my chipboard tag and then lay the chipboard on top of the pattern paper, burnish down really well and cut out. 

Below I decorated the Love with Key chipboard piece using the rose gold Gilding Flakes from the Mixed Media Kit along with the pink gold Pearl Ex. 

For the gilding flakes you want to use either your glue or you can use 3D gloss gel to adhere the gilding flakes to the chipboard, like I did below on the key portion of the chipboard. 

For the "love" portion I took my modeling paste and mixed in a little of the pearl ex. But first I brushed on textured paste to the "love" portion first. Once that dried I brushed on the pink pearl ex with modeling paste and let dry. Because I wanted it a little more pink I did my versa mark and patted it down on the "love" poured some pearl ex on top of it just a little bit and then heated it to set it. 

Next I adhered on the flowers and the small grapevine heart with my glue gun. I used my glue to adhere the chipboard "love" piece. Next I added some gilding flakes around the tag to give a little bit more interest to the tag and adhered some flat back pearls. 

Here is the finished tag. One thing I did to the pink flowers is I used a little gesso with water mixed, and brushed the mixture on lightly on each flower to lighten them up a bit. I then went over the flowers with stickles. 

Tag #2

For tag #2 cover the front just like we did the for the first tag.

Next cut a piece of 4x4 pattern paper. On my scoreboard I have black line down from the 6 inch I use this as a marker when I need to score something like this or in the middle of something. So line up your corners on the black line or your 6 inch line and score at the 5 inch on all four sides turning your square around. 

Next fold at the score lines and you will cut at the intersected parts of the square. This will give you a small envelope. (as shown below) Also you can view the video tutorial for more details. 

Here are some of the pieces I fussy cut out from the cut apart sheets in the Scrapbook Kit. Once you have your envelope folded up and flaps adhered glue it down on the tag. 

I glued on the small envelope fill it with the hearts. I did use foam tape on the hearts and the rest of the embellishments. I used a piece of seambinding from my stash for the bow. I added in flat back pearls, glued on the paper flowers and used glossy accents to add the shine to the hearts.

Valentine Shaker Cookie Jar Box

 Happy February everyone, 

Debbie here with another fun project using the Mini Shaker Cookie Jar from Clear Scraps. This is so cute, perfect for any type of project. 

Below I have a step by step tutorial for you. Behind the Cookie Jar I have a tag that you can pull out and place a sentiment on it. I wanted to place cookies inside but I ended up putting in some chocolate candy, but you can place anything inside this box. I do want to mention I cased the boxed from our Guest Designer Tiffany McGill. I just love how she created this easy box. Here is what our project looks like all finished. 

Let's get started. Below is are the items we will use for this cute Valentine Shaker Cookie Jar Box.

Below are the pieces of the Cookie Jar Shaker. Before I adhered together I took the back piece which is the full cookie jar piece and traced it onto pattern paper and cut out. 

Next I painted the Shaker Cookie Jar pink. I also colored the top little knob of the jar with a silver marker. 

I traced the top portion of the cookie jar and cut out to fit around the top part and adhered down. 

Remove both sides of the film coating from the acetate and adhered to the back of the frame you painted or will be using for the front of your shaker. 

You should now have two frames left, adhere them both together and then adhere them to the frame you will be using for the top portion of your shaker. 

Next add in your candy shaker bit from Clear Scraps along with any other shaker bits you have in your stash. 

Next place your glue around the frame of the cookie jar and place down over the shaker bits adhering the cookie jar together. 

 

To create the box you will need 2 sheets pf 8 1/2 x 11 pieces of cardstock. 

Cut them both down to 8 3/4 x 8 Score 1 1/2 inches on all 4 sides.

I'd like to give a shout out to Tiffany McGill who is our Guest Designer this month as this box is one she created. I really liked it as it was large enough to place the Mini Shaker Cookie Jar on top. 

After scoring both pieces of card stock cut the score lines as shown below. Once you cut the card stock now you have tabs put only one sheet together to form your box. 

The second piece of cardstock you will only cut one side of the tabs off, so you are only left with a long tab, as shown below. 

On the long flap place your adhesive on the inside of the flap, as shown below. 

Next place the flap to outside of the other box. Now you have a top and bottom and it will close perfectly. You can decorate this box now. 

For the top of my box I wanted to place a tag behind the cookie jar so I added two pieces of foam tape on left and right side of the cookie jar and a little bit on long the bottom. (see photo below) This will allow a small tag to slide in and out. 

I filled in the left and rights sides with remaining foam tape.  Next you can adhere your shaker to the top of your box. 

For the sides of box I added a few hearts using the 6' Heart Arrow Stencil using Festive Berries Distress Ink. 

Here is what the stencil pattern looked like on the side of my box. 

Here is the tag you can slide behind the Shaker Cookie Jar. The tag measures 2x3 1/2 inches.

With Love Mem Dex Cards

I hope you had a great weekend.  It's Deb here back with another wonderful project using these Clear Scraps Rounded Tab Chipboard MDC's. I have the links here for you just click here, you will be directed to the product.  

Here is a photo of the what Mem Dex Card's look like. I used the Rounded Tab Chipboard Dividers. These turned out so pretty and on one of them I created double doors, how fun is that. Let's get started with the step by step tutorial below. 

Supplies used - Rounded Tab Chipboard Dividers.

To start out I cover two of the three dividers with pattern paper. For the third divider I created double doors which I share how I did that below.

After I finished covering the front and back of the first divider I used some ephemera and did some fussy cutting around the pretty pink roses and adhered down. For the lady in the center of the frame I added some glossy accents. 

Here is the second divider. For this one I covered the front with a pretty little flower basket image. 

For the decorating portion on this divider i fussy cut out one of the baskets from the pattern paper and popped it up with foam tape behind it. Then I fussy cut some roses again and used ephemera. These two little girls reminded me of my daughters so I had to use them. 

Next is the third divider which I created some double doors. I cut two pieces of pattern paper at 3 3/8 x 5 inches and scored 1/2 inch on the ends of the left and right side of each one. I adhered the 1/2 inch flap to the edges of the divider. I placed adhered a magnet a little to the right inside. 

Next I adhered the 2nd magnet to the right inside door. I created a small pocket on the inside cover and added lace. I also added a little sentiment on the left hand side door. 

I decorated the front just a little bit. Now this is what the mdc divider looks like when finished. 

Here is a photo of all three cards finished. I think they are just perfect for Valentine's Day.

Fun Technique for Valentine Cards

 Good Day Everybody, 

It's Deb here back with some fun Valentine Card techniques that will get your crafty mojo going. I have the step by step tutorial down below for you. Let's get started. 

Here's a photo of the finished cards. I really like how the backgrounds turned out using the paint and the Double Heart Chipboard Embellishment along with the 6" Heart Arrow Stencil. 

Here are the supplies we used to create these cards. I used the Double Heart Chipboard Embellishment along with the 6" Heart Arrow Stencil.  (If you are interest in theses click the product name)

To begin we are creating 2 cards, cut a two piece of white cardstock as a size A2 card 

4 1/4 x 5 1/2 inches.

I am applying some clear gesso to the cardstock. 

Brush gesso on both pieces of cardstock. 

Next cut the double hearts out of the chipboard frame. We will be using both of these for our cards.

Next I painted the double hearts red let dry. Then add glue on top of the hearts to sprinkle some red glitter on them. 

Next we are doing to place some versamarkon the frame. Make sure to get the versamark all over.

I then sprinkled some Range embossing powder using Princess Gold, covering the frame entirely.

Next use the heat gun to set your embossing powder. 

Here is what the frame looks like once its finished. 

Now that our white cardstock is dry grab your acrylic paints and place over your cards. This will get a little messy, if you would like you can always put on gloves. 

Once I added my paint I then just used my fingers to swirl the paint around until I got the desired look I wanted. 

Here is another technique you can which is smooshing. Place the paint on your mat and swirl the paint around. 

take your cardstock and place in the paint.

Here is what it will look like once you lift your card up. I like the texture it gives the card. You can always add more white or what ever color you want. 

Now I have two card bases. Now you can set aside to dry or use your heat gun.

Here I am using my heat gun to get the paint. When using the gun you might get cracks but its fine with me as I think it adds a little more to the texture of the card. If you don't want cracks let air dry over night. 

Here is what the base panels look like once I'm done drying them. 

I cut the two panels apart. 

Next we are going to use one of the card panels with the Heart Arrow Stencil. So i grabbed some red paint and red glitter with some mixed media white paste and mixed everything together. 

Next I tapped down the stencil on top of the card so I wouldn't have any movement. However, the card slipped a bit so I did have a few hearts that didn't turn out. 

***Recommend - tape down the card first then tape down the stencil on top of the card so you don't have any slips from the card. 

After I let the hearts dry a bit I layered it on my card base. Now we get to decorate. 

Here is the finished card. I added some stickels around the hearts and a little stickels here and there around the card. I used some ephemera and did some fussy cutting from the paper collection I used, added a pink butterfly. I also heart embossed a sentiment in the left hand corner. 

Now for the second card. I used the stencil just with some red ink. You will tape down the stencil the same way we did for the first card. 

Next I adhered the heart stenciled panel to the back of the embossed chipboard frame and adhered to the base of the card. The card will measure 6 1/4 x 4 1/4 inches. Next I added some foam tape to the back of the double hearts and place in the center of the frame. Added a little stamped sentiment "With Love" along with some flowers and a little butterfly. 

I hope you liked today's project. I really enjoyed playing around and using some fun techniques using  paints with adding the stencil to both of these panels  and the double heart chipboard piece is just beautiful.
