Today Is The Day, Enjoy Magic Moments

 Hi everyone,

Today is my last project for the month of May using the May 2025 Kits for this month. For this project I used the Scrapbook Kit along with the Mixed Media Kit using a few chipboard pieces from the Tres Jolie Shop Butterfly chipboard, Large Tag, Ivy Leaves, Circle Words, and the Mini Flower Border. All of these are available in the Tres Jolie Shop. As always I have the step by step tutorial below as well as the video tutorial. Below I have the Links throughout the tutorial.

May 2025 Scrapbook Kit                                           May 2025 Mixed Media Kit

To begin out project you will want to gesso your art journal page or canvas.

After the gesso is applied and dried you can sprinkle the alcohol ink on the page and then add on the your alcohol ink blending solution or you can also use isopropyl alcohol to blend your inks around.
I used the isopropyl alcohol on my journal page.

To mixed my alcohol inks I used my heat gun. Then applied the inks again and repeated the same steps until I reached the look I wanted on the journal page.

After I have the journal the way I wanted I took a paper towel and blotted the ink.

Once the page is dried I used a stencil and mixed modeling paste with the Intense alcohol ink.
Let this dry.

While the page is drying you can paint or color the chipboard pieces.
For this Vine chipboard piece I used the alcohol inks right on top of the chipboard pieces, these pieces are not applied with gesso. I used a brown marker to color in the vine part.
*****For more details you can refer to the video tutorial*****

I have close up photos of the page once its done.
This picture is of the lower left side. I covered the large chipboard tag with scrapbook paper and used the mini flower boarder along with the chipboard circle word "today". The Ivy is leaning on the large tag but is actually adhered to the flowers inside the large frame.

For this large frame that is on the lower right hand side of the page. From the Scrapbook Kit I fussy cut out the rose and added foam tape behind it so it pops out of the frame.

This photo is the upper left side of the page. I used pattern paper behind the small frame and used some flowers from the Scrapbook Kit. I also used a small circle frame to have focal point of the flower placing some glossy accents on top.

This photo is a close up of the right upper page. For this part I used a chipboard butterfly colored in with the scorch alcohol ink and brown marker. I used some art stones that were covered with the intense alcohol inks. For my sentiment I used this from my stash from the January Mixed Media Kit.

Here is a photo of the full page all finished.

Forever Moments Mixed Media Layout

 Hi My Crafty Friends,

Thank for joining me today. Have you played around with this months Mixed Media Kit? I am enjoying playing around with the all the basic tools that are inside this kit. It's a great way to start out learning how all these fabulous items work together. I am still learning all about mixed media and with that being said, I have a fun layout I created using a new technique. I have a step by step down below for you but my video tutorial always gives you more details and you can follow both anytime. I also have links to the store for you grab your January Mixed Media Kit and the Scrapbook Kit.

January 2025 Mixed Media Kit                                       January 2025 Scrapbook Kit

Let's get started - To start you are going to need some clear gesso. This is something that did not come in the kit so you will need to grab some from your stash. Then brush the clear gesso over one of the pattern papers from the Scrapbook Kit. I used my large art brush from the Mixed Media Kit to brush on the clear gesso.

While your pattern paper is drying brush on your heavy white gesso, let dry or dry with heat gun for a bit let sit and then add some textured paste on top. Again you can let dry or use the heat gun to dry for a bit. **make sure not to get your chipboard to hot**

Here is what the chipboard looks like with the heavy white gesso and texture paste.

Next I added a stencil in a few areas around my pattern paper. I used the stencil from the Feb. 2024 Mixed Media Kit. If you do not have that one use one from your stash. Spread your modeling paste around. Then I came in with a scrunched up paper towel and did a pouncing technique around the areas I stenciled.

Next you can add your paints. I used the June 2024 Mixed Media kit, using the Finnabair violet acrylic paint along with the french rose Couture Paint. Again when placing these down I did a light pouncing technique.

After I finished adding in the paint and let it dry for a bit I painted the frame with Finnabair violet paint. Then I tranced the frame onto one of the scrap pieces of pattern paper and cut out to place the photo of my parents in the middle.  Next the bottom left and right corner pieces are images I fussy cut from some of the other pattern papers. I added in the ephemera pieces and also fussy cut out the butterflies and some of the flowers. I did add foam tape to the back of the flowers and to the bottom corner pieces.
I also added in the beautiful lace from the Scrapbook Kit. After adhering everything down I used some of the Glitzy Magical Gleaming Gold around the purple frame and around the layout.
To get more details on how I put my layout together you can hop on over to my video tutorial.

I hope you enjoyed today's step by step tutorial. I really had fun using the pouncing technique on this layout. I hope you received some inspiration and try creating a Mixed Media layout of one your favorite family photos. I hope to share some other fun techniques with you next week using this months January 2025 Mixed Media Kit. Thank you all for joining me today. For more details you can view the video tutorial.

Create With Heart Mixed Media Cards for Tres Jolie

Hi Crafty Friends,

Have you seen the new Mixed Media Kit for this month (January 2025) it contains all the basics you need to create some really fun and amazing cards, tags, canvas's and other projects you might have in mind. I have a photo down below of everything you receive inside the kit. For today's projects I also used the January 2025 Scrapbook Kit as well. Just click on the name above the photo and you'll be directed straight to the Kit. Also for full details on how to create the Mixed Media Cards down below view the video tutorial.

January 2025 Mixed Media Kit                                              January 2025 Scrapbook Kit

Card #1

To start we are going to apply Black Gesso to 3 sizes of cardstock.
For the first one, below, after the black gesso dried I embossed the cardstock with a flower embossing folder. Be sure the gesso is dried before using your embossing folder.

Next I used some Nuvo Embellishment Mousse from my stash and spread this out sporadically on top of the embossed image. You can use waxes or gelatos, or you can try water colors.

Next I took a flower chipboard ( Nature - Flower Set 1)piece from the shop, I painted the stem green using flat magical by Lindsey's Gang, this was in a MM Kit from last year.
I colored the chipboard flower adhered it on with some 3D Gloss Gel. I also used a butterfly and the flower embellishment from the Scrapbook kit. I added in art stones around my images.
The frame is from my stash and I placed one of the images (Lilac) inside the frame.

Once I was done I added one of the phrases from the Finnabair Sentiment Booklet you get in the Mixed Media Kit. I love how this card came out.

Card #2

For our next card I painted the white cardstock with Black Gesso, while it was wet I used the silicone end to create lines over it and let it dry. Once dried I used a stencil to create the circles and then used a stamp to add in the small dots around the cardstock.

Next I cut the piece in half once it was dried. I took one of the corners from the pattern paper and tore it around the flowers. I also used one of the cut-apart cards from the Scrapbook Kit.

I backed up the black gesso piece with a pattern paper from the Scrapbook kit and then adhered the card piece on top. I used a phrase again from the Sentiment Booklet and added a pretty purple ribbon.

Card #3

For the final card. I chose some stamps from my stash. For the white cardstock I used Black Gesso, but didn't cover the entire white cardstock. I left some white spaces showing.
I then took my white gesso and stamped images onto the black gesso areas.

Next I took some pink pigment ink and painted over the white areas very lightly. (the heats and the Love sentiment)

Once I was done I also used a fast drying pigment ink around the card edges. I added in the art stones using the 3D Gloss Gel and then went over them with the pink paint. Added in a key under the flowers I used white gesso and added in the pretty silver broach with flowers bunched in the middle.

I hope you enjoyed today's step by step tutorial and some inspiration from these beautiful Mixed Media Cards I created using this months January 2024 Mixed Media Kit. I have to say these cards were so fun to create and here is a fantastic way to use your black gesso on your cards. I can't wait to explore more fun ways to used this Mixed Media Kit and share with you all. Thank you all for joining me today. For more details you can view the video tutorial.

Butterfly Dream Canvas for Tres Jolie

 Hi everyone,

I hope you are having a great day. Today I have a colorful and beautiful Butterfly Canvas for you. I created this canvas using the June 2024 Mixed Media Canvas from Tres Jolie.

I have video tutorial down below for your convenience.

June 2024 Mixed Media Kit                                     June 2024 Scrapbooking Kit

If you have the Mixed Media KitMixed Media Kit we will be using the canvas, stencil and the modeling paste that come inside the Mixed Media KitMixed Media Kit

Place the stencil on top of the canvas and spread the modeling paste on the stencil, as shown below.

Once you are done spreading the modeling paste take off the stencil and wash the stencil right away. Set the canvas aside to dry for a few hours or you can use the heat tool but be sure to lightly dry the canvas do not get the heat tool close to the modeling paste or it will melt the paste.

After your canvas dries place some of the finnabair carmine paint on top of the canvas and spray with water so the paint runs and easy to spread around with the brush. You can also dab with paper towels.

below you can see the carmine paint and I used paper towels to blot. Next I added some of the Ochre to the canvas and spritzed some water on it and spread around around.

Here is what the finished canvased look like after I dabbed with paper towels. Let dry or you can lightly dry with the heat tool.

I fussy cut the large butterfly out from the Scrapbooking Kit, the paper collection is by Uniquely Creative. Adhere the butterfly to the canvas. I did fussy cut out the extra flowers and adhered some on the bottom.

I adhered down the word DREAM using the letters from the ephemera pack in the Scrapbooking Kit ephemera pack in the Scrapbooking Kit. I then cut out some flowers from the 2nd 12x12 pattern paper with the large butterfly from the paper pack.

I placed foam tape on the back of the flowers.

Adhere the flowers down. I think this gives the flowers a nice 3D look.

Here is the finial Butterfly Canvas . I added one of the little round stickers in the right hand corner from the sticker sheet that comes in the Scrapbooking Kit. I like the simplicity and elegance of  this canvas. It really comes together quick and makes an excellent home decor in a hallway or bathroom or bedroom wall. Would make a nice gift for a friend.
I hope you enjoyed today's step by step tutorial. I had a great time using both the June 2024 Mixed Media Kit  and  June 2024 Scrapbooking Kit to create this beautiful and colorful Butterfly Canvas for you all.  For more details you can always view the video tutorial process, which is at the top of the page.
