Embracing Memories Scrapbook Layout Process

Welcome back!

In today's scrapbooking tutorial, we're creating a matching vintage shabby-chic 2 page layout complete with soft floral patterns, delicate lace trim, and warm woodgrain borders using the 2026 August Scrapbook Kit. As always I have the video tutorial here and the step-by-step down below. Enjoy!!

To start out for both 12x12 layout pages use a 12x12 cardstock from your stash and then cut down a pattern paper 11 7/8 x11 7/8 inches. Adhere the 11 7/8 x11 7/8 inch pattern paper on to the 12x12 cardstock piece. Do this for both layout.

Next cut 3 pieces of pattern paper 3 3/4 x 11 inches and adhere them down leaving a 1/8th inch in between the strips. I then took the beautiful lace from the Scrapbook Kit and adhered it to the top and bottom of the page. I also inked the edges of the 12x12 piece and the strips using Walnut Distress ink.

Next cut out your photo mats - Cut 3 @ 4 1/4 x 61/4 inches, then cut pattern paper 4 x6 inches and adhere them on top. I laid them down staggered.

Here is the finished layout with embellishments from the August Scrapbook Kit. I also painted and colored the little chipboard jar with flowers piece down in the right hand corner and added a journal card for dates and other info below if needed.

To begin the 2nd layout you'll follow the same measurements we did for the first layout. Use a 12x12 cardstock from your stash and then cut down a pattern paper 11 7/8 x11 7/8 inches.
Adhere the 11 7/8 x11 7/8 inch pattern paper on to the 12x12 cardstock piece and ink the edges.

Then cut a piece of pattern paper at 10 3/4 x 10 3/4 inches; adhere down on top of the wooden plank pattern paper.

Next cut 1 piece of cardstock @8 1/4 x 8 1/4 inches, ink edges; cut 1 pattern paper @ 8 x 8 inches adhere down onto the cardstock, inking edges. Then adhere the piece down in a diamond shape as shown below.

Add in the photo mats, cut 1 at 4 1/4 x 6 1/4 inches, pattern paper at 4 x6; cut 2 @ 4 1/4 x 4 1/4 inches, then cut 2 pattern paper pieces @ 4x4 inches. Adhere the pieces down as shown below.

Here is the finished layout showing the embellishments I used. I used the chipboard fence that is inked with Walnut Stain Distressed Ink. I fussy cut out some the flowers ad the heart. I also used the sentiments from the Card Kit sticker pack and cut flags to add a little color.

I hope you enjoyed today's tutorial, whether you're scrapbooking wedding memories, family moments, or everyday highlights, these layouts show you how to layer patterned papers, mats and die-cuts for maximum visual texture without overcrowding your photos.

Easy Mixed Media Layered Cards for Tres Jolie Kit Club

Hello My Creative Friends!

Welcome back to another fantastic Mixed Media Project for the month of June. With this project we are using a portion of all three of the 2026 June Kits from Tres Jolie. We will be having fun with the solar paste's, using the gorgeous botanical design papers along with layering the mixed media items we create. These dimensional cards give a shabby chic look with deep, vibrant jewel tones which will give a little inspiration to everyone! I have the step by step tutorial down below, and the video tutorial for you as well.

2026 June Scrapbook Kit                                                    2026 June Mixed Media Kit

2026 June Card, Tag and More Kit

Card #1
To begin we will be tracing around the outside of the stencil. This will create our card base.

Next trace the smaller card but the first line around. Next cut both out.

To create the mats, trace the second line from the inside to form the mat for the larger card and the second line from the inside for the smaller card mat.

Next adhere the mats to both cards. Then fold the smaller card up and glue down the left and right side to create a small pocket to adhere to the front of the card as shown below. In the photo below I cut out two of each of the dies. I then added the solar paste deep end and royal flush to black cardstock and placed the small hearts on to cut them out. Adhere the small hearts to the dies.

Below is the black cardstock I added the solar paste and cut out the heart dies.

Next I took the "Thank You" chipboard and applied the solar past royal flush to the words and the deep end to the scrolls. ( I did not apply any gesso to the chipboard piece)

Here is the finished card.

Card #2
Again trace around the outside of the stencil on the purple 12x12 cardstock from the card kit.  This creates our card base, next trace the second line from the inside to create our mat. You will only need half of the card mat traced.

Next take the black cardstock mat we just cut out. Use a stencil to apply solar paste's around. I used the royal flush first and applied to various areas, then used deep end and applied that to the other areas.
*****View Video Tutorial for more Details**********

Once you're done take off the stencil and let dry for a minute, it doesn't take long. You will have a beautiful array of colors and it will show a different in color in the light when turned a different way.

To finish off the card I decorated with the June Card Kit flowers and then added a sentiment from the Paper Rose's paper collection.

Card #3
For our last card take the solar paste's and apply then to a piece of black card stock and in different areas.

Next use an embossing folder to emboss the cardstock. Below this is what your cardstock should look like. These solar paste's make terrific backgrounds and just really add a beautiful vibrant look to the cards.

Next I cut my design papers and layered them. I did use foam tape on the floral and embossed papers.

Next I used some of the flowers, frames and ephemera from the June Scrapbook Kit.
I did add some white splatters to the card.

Here is the finished card.

Creating these dimensional cards gives a shabby chic look with deep, vibrant jewel tones that anyone would love to receive. We created textures combined with layered frames and used stenciling to create dark backgrounds with rich blues and purples. I hope you enjoyed the techniques in today's step by step tutorial, I know I enjoyed sharing these with you.

Spring Fling Bee Happy Folio

Hi everyone,

Welcome back! Today, we are celebrating the arrival of spring with this adorable, bee themed folio using the 2026 May Card, Tag and More Kit from Tres Jolie. This sweet folio features a beautiful pattered papers, and dimensional embellishments, this folio is sure to bring  smiles and sunshine just opening it up or gifting it to someone special. Down below I have the step-by-step tutorial and the video tutorial that gives further details for each area inside the folio.

2026 May Card, Tag and More Kit

To start out take the 12x12 black card stock and cut one piece at 12x8 inches and cut one at 4x8 inches.

Next Score the large piece with the 12 inch across the top of the scoreboard.
Score at 4 1/4, 4 1/2, 10 1/4 and 10 1/2 inches.
Next place 1/4 inch adhesive on the right side edge of the larger paper just scored and adhere the smaller piece 4x8 piece to the edge. Your Folio Base should look like the photo below.
(View Video Tutorial for more details)

Next cut out 2 pieces of cardstock at 5x5 ; Score 1/2 inch & 3/4 inches
Cut out 2 pieces 4 1/2 x 7 7/8 inches; Score 1/2 inch & 5/8 inches

After you score the 5x5 pieces cut the left and right ends off at a slant. Using a ruler make it slanted and use an xacto knife or draw a line and cut both pieces.(View Video Tutorial for more details)

Next adhere on the smaller flaps 5x5 inch to the top and bottom and then adhere on the larger pieces to the left and right side as shown below.
(View Video Tutorial for more details)

After you place on the flaps you can paper the outside and inside.
Here I have the front of the Folio papered and decorated. I used the chipboard "Spring Fling" from the May Scrapbook Kit. I used a black marker around the border and then used crystal glaze on top and let dry. I added the lace as a closure and the added the flower with the chipboard honeycomb at the bottom along with one of the 49 and Market elements from the kit on the side of the Bee cut apart card.

Next for the left inside panel I created 3 small envelopes. Cut 3 pieces of paper 5x5 inches, I used the envelope maker for these but I did do a video tutorial showing how to create them using your scoreboard. I decorated them using the 49 and Market elements from the Card Kit.
The right side flap I used the larger cut-apart image and turned this into a pocket using 1 inch strips. I then placed a few photo/journal pieces inside the pocket with tabs.
(View Video Tutorial for more details)

Here is a close up of the envelopes. Each envelope has a little something inside.

Close up of the large pocket with the tabs on top of the photo/journal cards.

Next I created a larger envelope and made this into a pocket as well. I created some of these beautiful framed see through window ephemera pieces using acetate, along with some of the elements from the 49 and Market packet using the frames, flowers, butterflies and sentiments. The envelope flap opens and holds some other photo mats and journal items. All the envelopes close with a magnet.

Here is the last flap. This is so fun to make and placed on these cute little buttons we created, please view Video Tutorial. This is like a policy envelope and opens from the top and bottom and then has the side flaps that open up from right to left. (View Video Tutorial for more details)

Here is a look at the inside. The flaps are opened up.

I hope this sweet Bee Happy folio has inspired you to dust off your paper trimmer and dive into some spring crafting! I enjoyed creating this bee-themed folio and I hope it brought some sunshine to your craft-room. For more details please watch the full step-by-step video tutorial. Thank you so much for stopping by and crafting with me today.

Until next time, keep curating those beautiful memories. ~Deb
