Christmas Collage Mixed Media Tags for Tres Jolie Kit Club

Hi everyone,

Have you seen the new 2025 November Mixed Media Kit? Well I am about to share with you a few awesome techniques and fun ways to learn how to use these Distress Mica Sprays along with the Collage Medium and Collage papers inside the kit. I have the links down below as well as the step by step tutorial and video tutorial which always provides more details. I hope this brings you some inspiration.

2025 November Mixed Media Kit

To start off we will be creating 4 tags. I will cover 2 tags with clear gesso.

TAG 1:
For the first tag without Gesso place the collage medium down and spread all over the tag.

Next tear a piece of the collage papers, which ever you decide, place it down on top of the collage medium we just spread about the tag.

Next using the Distress Mica Sprays and spritz on the tag. Let set and dry for a minute. Once its been a minute you can dry with the heat tool but not very close.

I then tore another collage paper with the tree and adhered that on top of the tag using the collage medium. Again let set and dry for a minute. you can air dry for a few minutes, then come in and use a heat tool very lightly across the tag.

Next I added the presents I fussy cut out from the 2025 November Card Kit, then used the little boy from my stash. I added the phrase across the top used from the present cut apart card. I also added some perfect pearls around the top and sides of the tag using my figure to lightly spread around.

TAG 2:
For the second tag use a stencil in the tag that has gesso.
Lay the stencil across the tag and spray the Distress Mica Sprays across the top.

Then spread collage medium across the top once the sprays are dried. then lay down the collage image down and gently rub down till the paper is completely adhered.

Once you lay down the collage paper put some collage medium on a brush and spread around the top of the image. You can spray a little more mica spray around the tag if you want more color on top.

TAG 3:
Tag three spread down the collage medium, then place down the collage paper image and spread the collage medium down on top.

Next spray the distress mica sprays across the top again.

I used a chipboard window from a previous kit and added the holly berries through the window. I used versa mark around the white berries and then used my figures to add in the perfect pearls. I adhered down the down to the tag.

TAG 4:
For tag 4 I grabbed my distress crayons from the 2023 October Mixed Media Kit. I used the green and gold to color in my collage paper image.

Next spray the last tag with green distress mica spray all around the tag. Let the tag set and dry for a minute.

Next place the colored image on top and use a small brush to add on the collage medium around the image.

I did use the red distress mica spray to color the berries on the image and I also added some splatters.

But here is another idea. You can add the pretty white holly berries from the Mixed Media Kit on top of the berries and adhere down. I also added some idea-ology sticker boarders to the top and bottom.

Here are the 4 tags below that are all finished. You can always check out the video tutorial for more details on how I created these Christmas Tags using the Collage papers and Collage Medium  along with the Distress Mica Sprays.

Fun Halloween Mixed Media Collage

Hello my crafty friends,

Hope you are having a great day. Today I have a fun mixed media project to share with you. I used the Mixed Media Kit to create a Halloween Collage. I also have a process tutorial for you to view so you can craft along with me or use it as inspiration. I really like how this turned out, I can definitely see me adding this to a center of a wreath or place it up on the mantle as a Halloween decoration.

Here is the video for you to view.

To begin out project you will need the Mixed Media Kit shown below and another items you have in your stash. I added in some die cuts that I received from a swap, you will see those down below. I also added some clear gesso to the canvas and the wooden butterfly before applying my distress stains & crayons.

While the canvas and butterfly were drying I cut out the images from the rice paper I wanted use.

Once I cut out the images I spritz water on the back and gently tear away any excess paper from the image. This gives the image that nice torn feathery look on the ends. If you want you can ink the edges after your done tearing.

Next I brought over the canvas and sprayed distress stains around the canvas. I would a little and blot with a paper towel and spray the next color, blot and so on until I had the canvas the way I wanted it look.

Once I finished the canvas I set aside to dry for a bit.

Next I started on the butterfly. For this I used the TH Distress Crayons, these are so fun to play with. I used all three colors to color around the butterfly and used a paper towel and my fingers to smooth out the colors.

Once I finished I lightly spritzed on one of the distress stains, added a bit more green to the butterfly.

Next I adhered the rice paper images down on the canvas using my glue.

Once I had the images adhered down I added some die cuts from my stash like the tree, spider web and witch on the broom sticks. Then I adhered the butterfly down by adding glue to the back of the wooden butterfly.

Now we are done. I just love how this all came together and it was so easy and fun.

Thanks for joining me today. I hope you gained some inspiration from today's project and the all projects from the October Tres Jolie Kits. Don't forget to check us out on our social media I have all the links below for you.
