Turn Your Nature Photos into a Vintage Film Strip Masterpiece!
In today's tutorial, we'll be using the 2026 February Card Kit with some amazing chipboard pieces from the Tres Jolie Shop. I'm showing you how to create this beautiful, nature-inspired 4 1/2 x 10 inch Folio to capture you favorite photos using chipboard filmstrips. Whether your a seasoned scrapbooker or just looking for a creative way to display your wildlife or nature photos, this project is perfect for preserving those outdoor memories. You will learn how to design a custom film strip layout, assembly tips for a professional keepsake finish and a how to create a cohesive "story" look, and using layering techniques.
2026 February Card Kit
To begin we are going to create a slimline folio. *******For more details view Video Tutorial********** Cut 1 piece card stock @ 7x12
Cut 1 piece of card stock @ 6 1/2x12, adhere the edges together.
Cut 2 piece of chipboard @ 4 1/2x 10 3/4 inches
Cut 1 piece of chipboard @ 2 x 10 3/4 inches

Glue chipboard pieces in the center of the cardstock and fold and adhere flaps over the chipboard pieces. Use bonefolder to crease in between the spine gaps so your folio will close easily without any breakage in the paper.
Next take one of the beautiful patter papers from the February Card Kit. Use these pieces for the inside cover and then cut pieces for the outside cover.
Cut 2 pieces at 4 3/8 x 10 1/2 inches
You will have 1 piece at 3 1/4 x 10 1/2 inches
Use some ribbon or lace for the closer. Cut 2 piece at 5-6 inches and adhere one end to the back of the folio and one to the front of the folio.
4 Pages are cut @ 4 1/2 x 10 1/2 inches, score 1/2 inch on the left hand side.

Fold back flaps on the pages that are scored and adhere them down inside the spine area, placing one down on the left side and then following behind by adhering down the second page and so on.
Once your pages are in you can paper the pages using the beautiful vintage floral papers from the Card Kit and then adhere down the long plastic photo inserts.
On two of the pages I used scraps to create a belly
band for extra photo mats or you can create a little book to hold more photos.

Next I used a die to create photo strips and I also used chipboard film strips from the shop to create places to show off my nature walk photos. These are long tags that fit perfects into the photo inserts.
Cut 5 @ 3 1/8 x 91/2 inches
Here are more photos below to show you I used chipboard film strips from the shop and incorporated then into the folio along with using a die from my stash.

A closer look at the large tags I placed inside the large plastic photo inserts from the February Card Kit.
Large Chipboard Film Strip on the left side and the large tag inside the plastic photo insert.
Belly Band pages below. I used chipboard pieces from the large chipboard film strip to adhere photo down and then adhered them to the belly band.
Below is the plastic inside on the left side and on the right side I used the remaining large chipboard film strip cut from the bottom to add a photo inside. I also used some chipboard stamps from the Tres Jolie Shop to add some smaller/mini photos on.

Today I am happy to share with you the Slimline Album I created using the June2025 Card, Tag and More Kit. I hope you enjoy todays step by step tutorial, along with the video tutorial shown below which gives more details. I also have the link for you below.
To begin take one of the cards from the kit and score at a 1/2 inch and then adhere the 1/2 inch to the middle spine of the slimline album. ***see video tutorial for more details if needed***
Next Cut 2 cards at 3 5/8 inches, these are going to be flaps for photos.
Adhere one down in the midsection panel on the top left side of the album.
Adhere the second flap down on the 3rd inside panel on the bottom, next to the card flap we just adhered down on the spine. ***see video tutorial for more details if needed***
Take another card and cut 1/2 inch off the open end of the card, the card should measure 3 3/4 inches.
With the open end facing to the left, adhere this down in middle panel, as shown below.

Next for our closure cut two pieces of cardstock at 2 x 8 1/2 inches. adhere two of the ends together.
You should have a long a strip.
Next wrap around the slimline album to the back. With the top piece laying over the bottom piece measure 1 inch and cut the excess off. Then adhere the end together 3/4 inches inward.
Next cut some of the pattern paper and adhere around the closure. Place the closure over the album midway, when sliding the closure on it should fit a little loose so you have room to place photos inside. Now you can decorate the front and inside of the album.

Here is the Left inside panels.
The first panel at the end I created a small pocket using scraps, cutting the pocket 3 1/2 x 2 1/2 inches. Only place adhesive to the sides and bottom and adhere down. This will hold tags or or small photos.
The middle panel and the third panel is where we added our flaps from the cards we cut at 3 5/8 inches.
I also used some of the ephemera from the Card Kit to decorate around the flaps. I just love the little woodland characters and the fairies.
Here is the right side panels for the end panel I created a small pocket using scraps, cutting the pocket 3 1/2 x 2 1/2 inches, just like I did for the left side.
The middle panel is where I adhered the card we cut at 3 3/4 inches. And the third panel I adhered down some of the cut a-parts for small photos or for journaling. ***See video tutorial for more details***
This is the card we scored 1/2 inch and adhered to the middle spine and this can photos and it has a small pocket for holding tags or photos.
