Time To Create using the January 2024 Mixed Media Kit

 Welcome back everyone, 

I hope you are having a great week, its almost Friday. yay! Today I am here to bring you a new project I created using the January 2024 Mixed Media Kit. This was so fun to create I really like being able to just use mix media and just go with the flow. There's no staying inside the lines and you can just do what you feel. Here is the video tutorial I created for you to view that gives a little more details. 

Let's get started on this beautiful Time To Create canvas. Here are the supplies I used. I used the January 2024 Mixed Media kit along with the stencil from August 2023 Mixed Media Kit. 

I also used ephemera from the August 2023 Scrapbooking kit and 

only the stencil from the Mixed Media Kit.

First I started off with applying gesso to the round canvas. Set aside to let dry for a bit. It dries really quick. 

Next apply gesso to your chipboard pieces. This chipboard piece is the Split Mandala 3 I have it linked here for you so you can go straight the store. This chipboard piece is so pretty. It's one of my favs.

After the gesso dries on the Split Mandala Chipboard pieces Paint them with white paint. This is very important before you apply the embossing glaze. If you skip the painting the gesso with cause the embossing glaze to bubble on the chipboard when heat drying. 

Next I sprayed on my dress sprays from my stash I did use two of the distress stains from the October 2023 mixed media kit ominous twilight and specimen, from my stash I used tattered rose and peacock feather. I felt these sprays coordinated best with the distress embossing glazes we would be using.

After I applied my sprays I used my heat gun to moved the paint around to get the 

desired look on my canvas. 

Next I placed the modeling paste from the kit onto the stencil.

Take off the stencil and you are left with your pattern. 

While your paste is still wet apply the embossing glaze on top of the paste. I used each of the different color of glazes. Then use your heat gun to dry the glaze on the paste, this will cause some bubbling but move the heat gun around, don't stay in one place very long. 

Here is what my canvas looks like after we are done. 

Now we are going to emboss the painted chipboard pieces. You will use the versamark pad and place it straight down on the end of the chipboard piece, so the piece is wet. 

Then sprinkle on the embossing glaze. 

Use your heat gun to set the embossing powder. 

Then you will get the versamark and place it on the edge of the pumice stone you just embossed and wet the section with the versamark pad. Do this throughout the chipboard piece. Sprinkle on the next color which is wilted violet. 

Get the heat gun and dry the embossing glaze. Do this each time you apply the embossing glaze to your chipboard piece. 

Once finished with both pieces of chipboard apply glue to the back and adhere on to the canvas. 

Here is the finished the canvas with the chipboard pieces attached to the top and bottom. Now it's time to decorate. 

Here is the finished canvas with the items I used from August 2023 Scrapbooking Kit, as well as some items from my stash. 

Close up of the what the Split Split Mandala Chipboard piece looks like once you are done embossing the glaze on top. Doesn't it look so pretty. I just love how it turned out.

Hello Fall Wall Decor

 Good Morning everyone, 

Are you ready for Fall? I am ready to welcome in the cool weather from the all the hot weather we had here in Texas this summer. lol 

Today I have a fun Fall Decor for your home that is super simple and will bring a nice warmth to your home. No matter you display this piece it's sure to add that "Hello Fall" feeling to any room.

Let's get started on this fun "Hello Fall Wall Decor". Here are the supplies you will need from Clear Scraps Chipboard Oak Tree., Mini Shaker Vintage Truck, and Hello Fall Stencil. I used the back of a canvas as my frame. 

I painted the wooden frame and cut my pattern paper to size I measured inside of the frame.

Next I painted my Clear Scraps Chipboard Oak Tree. with Tim Holtz Distress Paint Walnut

Next I added glue to the top of the Chipboard Oak Tree.

. 

Next I added some Autumn Flowersoft to this little Chipboard Oak Tree.. I had this flowersoft in my stash, and let dry

Next we are going to start putting the Mini Shaker Vintage Truck together. Adhere to of the truck frames together.

I painted the top frame a navy blue. 

Now while the top of the frame is drying you can peel off the film from both sides of the acetate. 

Add glue to frames you adhered together earlier and adhere on the acetate on top of them . 

Once your top piece of  Mini Shaker Vintage Truck frame is dry, adhere to the acetate. 

I did paint the bottom piece of the truck but I ended up placing pattern paper on top of it. 

Add your shaker bits to the inside of the Mini Shaker Vintage Truck and add your glue around the chipboard frame. Add the bottom piece and press firmly to make sure you adhere all around the truck. 

Now we are finished with this cute little Mini Shaker Vintage Truck

Now its time to use this fun "Hello Fall Stencil" from Clear Scraps. I saw this in the shop and had to get it. For the FALL portion of the stencil I used TH Distress Ink Vintage Photo. 

For the "hello" portion I did a I used Distress inks Scattered Straw, Carved Pumpkin and Vintage Photo. I wanted a gradient look to the word "hello" so I placed the scattered straw up high on the word and in the middle of the word I used carved pumpkin and for the bottom of the word I did vintage photo. 

Next I took a pen and traced around the words Hello Fall Stencil while the stencil was still on, I wanted to give the words more definition. I think it helps a lot.

See here after I finished using the pen to trace the words "hello FALL" I really like how it gave the words more definition and it looks nice. Next I placed foam tape on the back of the Mini Shaker Vintage Truck and Chipboard Oak Tree. I did add some pumpkin stickers to the back of the truck, I think it looks so cute. 

Next I attached the decorate paper to the inside of the frame by using glue dots behind the paper in each corner, burnish the corners down and now its secure. 

Next I added some flowers and leaves I had in my stash and glued them on, and I added a small pumpkin stack in between the A & L. 

Now its all finished.

Well today I have a new challenge for you all at One Stitch At A Time Challenge 271 Anything Goes with A Special Day. Come over to join us with all your cards showing how you create a card or project celebrating A Special Day.

For this wonderful challenge I used a digital stamp from the StitchyBear Digital Outlet Store Wonderland Cake designed by CraftyGirl Creations. 

When I saw this stamp I just knew what paper I wanted to use with this stamp Graphic 45 - Hallowe'en in Wonderland Collection, I really think it goes perfectly. 

I decided to do something a little different something a little off from my 

usual using fun colors with my copic markers.  

 Here is a closer look of the stamp and the background of the Tag. I used some fun

items to create my background Tim Holtz distressed paints and inks, BoBunny black gesso

with TH stencil Harlequin and BoBunny Grape Glitter paste. 

Here is a close up of the stamp. 

Applied Glossy Accents to nose and clock. I also used black liquid 

pearls applied around the cake and the gold liquid pearls are applied

 to the chain that links to the clock.

Live In The Moment - TH 12 Tags of 2016 March

Hi all,

Did another Tag for the TH 12 Tags of 2016 in March. I didn't have a some of the items that he used to achieve the exact Tag but I improvised with what I had on hand. I have to be honest it turned out okay but would like to redo this using the TH distress crayons.

This years Tags are themed "2016 Technique Remix", which means that he is taking techniques used in recent years and adding them together.

Supplies I used for this Tag:
Dies - TH Alterations - Tresllis; Butterfly Duo
Inks - TH distress paint - picket fence, seedless preserves, spiced marmalade, broken china, mowed lawn, spun sugar, mustard seed; Distress Inks - Vintage photo; Destress Stains - Vintage Photo, Tarnished Brass, Picket Fence.
Accessories - twine and yellow ribbon; gold leaf scattered around the tag; metal embellishments; TH ideaology - Hinges; TH manila tags and corrugated cardboard; White Gesso
Paper - TH ideaology - paper stash - Seasonal (8x8)

For this tag I followed along with the directions stated on TH Blog but used my 

TH paints, dies and other items I had on hand. After spritzing the corrugated

cardboard I used gold leaf around the tag. 

For the background I covered the tag with a sheet of paper used from paper stash;

used the trellis die cut, added a gesso, then painted around the tag. 

I made a little butterfly out of the TH Hinges.

TH 2015 February Tag

Hi all,

Hope you all are staying safe and warm. Here is Texas we got snow, yes, Snow. A lot of it where I live, about 5 inches or more.

Well I decided this year I wanted to participate in a couple of challenges throughout the year. And one of them was entering The Tim Holtz 12 tags of 2015. I missed January's Tag but I had promised myself I would do a tag for 2015 Tag for February.
My choice for joining this years 12 tags of 2015 was to become more familiar with using all of the products from TH/Ranger the new spray, learning new techniques and how to use the various charms, metals, stickers, and other products together. Incorporating all these things to make beautiful tags, cards, layouts and hopefully canvas's. :D

Well here is my tag I am entering:

12 tags of 2015 - February

Supplies Used & Instructions:

Used Manila Tag, Thrift Shop Emphemera Pack - which are adhered with Glue N'Seal to the tag and glued 2 Butterfly pieces together from the Emphemera pack to get a 3D effect. Placed tissue tape in empty spaces. 

Fussy cut the "Love Birds and leaf " from the Wall Flower Paper Pack; Placed within the frame.

Arrow & Frame - Industrious Stickers Frame & Trims;  

White picket fence dabbed around the tag, and used on the metal Word bands, Heart and Arrow; Tied the metal heart with wire around the Arrow. 

Placed Botanical Remnant Rubs - "TRUE LOVE forever"

Seedless Preserves Distress Marker used for smudge effect. 

From Stash - Metal heart and Lace; Seam Binding was dyed with Seedless Preserves, Antique Linen, and Broken China Distress Markers.
