Hi Crafty Friends,
Welcome back! Today we are crafting a gorgeous, rustic inspired "Home Sweet Home" Recipe Folio perfect for organizing your favorite family recipes, kitchen notes, and cherished culinary memories. This rustic mini folio features beautiful wooden plank textures, cozy kitchen ephemera, and a dimensional flower magnetic closure strap to keep everything securely tucked away. For this project we will used the Tres Jolie 2026 August Scrapbook Kit.
Let's start by cutting some cardstock you will need 3 pieces cut at 8x9 inches.
Next Score only 2 pieces, starting at 1/2 inch then score 5/8, 3/4, 7/8, 1, 1/14 inches. You should have multiple score lines like the photo below.
*****Please follow Video Tutorial for more Details*****
Now the piece that wasn't scored will be adhered in the middle. Place adhesive or glue to the 1/2 inch scored area and adhere the middle piece to the 1/2 inch scored area. Do this for the right and left hand side. *****Please follow Video Tutorial for more Details*****
In the Video Tutorial I had cut 8 pieces of cardstock at 6 1/2 x 8 3/4 inches, I ended up cutting 10. At the center score line cut the 1/2 inch piece off, which is shown in the photo below.

Then place adhesive on the 1/2 inch pieces and adhere down.

I created hinges for all the pockets using scraps from the pockets we made. Cut your long strips into 1 inch strips, score 1/2 inch and fold. Adhere the folded end to the edge of the pocket fold and snip off any excess strip.
Next I covered the outside and inside of the folio. For the middle section you made this a large pocket. Place adhesive on the left, right and bottom of your middle panel and create a little notch to the top with a circle punch, using only the half of the circle.

Next place lace down on the 1/2 inch hinge flap and add adhesive on top.

Adhere down the pocket to the left side of the folio.

Photos below show the left and right side of the folio waterfall created using the pockets we created.

Next add a pocket below each of the waterfalls.
Cut a piece of pattern paper at 7 1/2 x 3 1/2 inches, Score at 1/2 inch on the left, right and bottom.
Fold over and adhere down the 1/2inch flaps.

Photo below shows the pockets on each side of the folio. I also decorated each pocket using the elements from the paper collection.
Next we created a closure. Cut two pieces 1 - 8 x 1/2 inches; 2 - 8 x 1 1/4 inches adhere together. I placed 3 magnets on the inside and adhered the flower embellishment to the top (front). I also added a little pattern paper torn on the top and bottom with the other magnets underneath.
Here is the finished front with the "Home Sweet Home" chipboard piece along with the elements fussy cut from the paper collection.
Here is the finished inside.
I hope you enjoyed today's tutorial, as we constructed the base, laid down decorative paper layers, and added charming embellishments. At the end we created a beautiful handmade Rustic Recipe Folio, whether you're making a family heirloom keepsake or a thoughtful handmade gift.
