It's A Beautiful Day

Good Day My Crafty Friends,

I hope you all are having a great day. Have you seen the new February Mixed Media Kit?? If you have it, have you had a chance to play around with all fun things inside? If not well today is the day you might want to play and try some of the fun techniques I share with you. I used a few other items from past kits and I will have the links for them if they are still available. I am so excited to share what I created so let's get busy and have some fun. I have all the links for you throughout this step by step and I have a video tutorial that shares more details.

February 2025 Mixed Media Kit

To get started on this heart tear a book page into a few pieces and adhere down. If you have the 3D Gloss Gel from January's Mixed Media Kit you can use that to adhere down everything in today's project. I also use the left over book page from the December Scrapbook Kit.

Next I took some creme and pink acrylic paint and just painted in random strokes around the heart.

This chipboard piece comes in the February Scrapbook Kit. To create this beautiful paint I mixed the Stamperia Mixed Media medium found in the Mixed Media Kit along with the White Pearl-Ex. Combine these two items together using a 1 to 1 ratio. (view video tutorial for more details) Once done mixing you can apply the mixture on top of the swirl chipboard piece.

I adhered the silver swirl chipboard across the heart. Next I used the small steampunk clock, painted it using the pink gold pearl-ex adhered it down on top of the swirl. I cut up the square heart that comes in the MM kit. I then used versa mark and applied the pink gold pearl ex on top and use a heat gun to set. I adhered the small heart pieces around the large heart. I used the gilding flakes along with the art stones adhering down with the 3D Gloss Gel. I added in flowers and the "It's A Beautiful Day" sentiment from the scrapbook kit.

Here is the finished heart and some close up photos for you down below.

I hope you enjoyed today's step by step tutorial. I really had so much fun creating this mixed media wooden heart. I hope you get to try out some of the techniques and use the fun items in this months Mixed Media Kit.  These would be nice to give for little gifts for friends, family or co-workers.

Don't forget to post your project on our Facebook Group Page, link is down below. We would love to see what you create.
For more details you can always view the video tutorial process, which is at the top of the page.
