Well It's April! Yeah!! I love spring, its like my favorite time of year cause everything is turning green, growing, the birds are always happily chirping around my yard in the trees which are spouting new leaves and buds of flowers. :D (although my allergies would disagree) lol
So some of you might know from previous postings I am soon to be a grandma. :D So excited I just can't wait. heheheeee Yes, my first born granddaughter will be arriving next month sometime the end of May. Which brings me to the tell you I have been very busy the last few weeks planning a Baby Shower with 3 of my daughter's for my oldest daughter (the pregnant one). Yes, I have 4 daughters in all, they range from 13, 19, 22, and 23. So we were all making invites these last few weeks, ummm, how many you ask? Well, originally there were 30 but now there is over 50. Yes, that is correct. I am not sure if all will show up but I have placed the order for cake, figured out the games and made a few baby decorations which I will be posting here shortly after this post.
I wanted to share a picture of the girls making the invites and then share the invites we made for the baby shower. Ok, so I have made invites before but not for 50 people. Not sure if any of you have ever done over 50 invites before, but I was pooped out. So during our assembling of the invites I ran out of the original ribbon, so I went to my stash and found a couple of different ribbons to use. In addition to the ribbon running out my design paper I used ran out as well, so I improvised still using the same paper pack just using a different designed paper. I hope you like them, I thought they turned out pretty cute. :D
Picture of the girls working hard - We set up like an assembly line, I had already cut everything out and folded; One person did the ribbon & bows, one person stamped, one person glued on the front of the cards with the elephant and I was in charge of the pull out section with the vellum.
Charissa is the one expecting - purple shirt
Ellyse is sitting next to her - blue long sleeves (by the door)
Elora is at the end of the table
Fallon is on left side blue-green shirt (writting addresses on the envelopes)
***See don't they look like they are having fun! Lol
They were all concentrating on their jobs. : D
Ok, now for the cards - I wanted something easy and fast. So I chose something with a pocket and an easy front. Charissa wanted to use a pink elephant with polka dots. So instead of stamping an elephant I used the Cricut Cartridge-Create a Critter. The paper we used DCWV Preppy Princess, she liked the print and plus I was thinking if we run out of one design we could some other other pretty paper, little did I know I was going to have to go get another pack. Plus I wanted to use the same print for the decorations. For the plain cardstock I used Recollections paper essentials it has all cardstock colors (200 sheets), this paper pack has 3different colors of pink which I used for the elephant ears and the main card, for the insert I used a cream color cardstock then attached my printed vellum to it with a topper and flower. I also used a light green for one of the invites because I ran out of pink cardstock. (long sigh) But it still turned out good. Flowers and gems were from Recollections. Ribbons are from Michaels.
