Gold Leaf & Garden Roses Mini Album for Tres Jolie Kit Club

 Hi everyone,

In today's tutorial, we are exploring the art of high-texture layering. We'll be combining vintage-inspired scrapbook paper with 3D paper flowers, delicate chipboard cut keys, and shimmering gold leaf accents. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced mixed media artist, these techniques will help you add incredible depth to your paper crafts. What you'll learn: How to layer distressed paper, techniques on applying hold leafing to mixed media projects or other areas in your paper crafts, building 3D floral blusters and much more.

Part 1 Canvas

To start we are going to use the February Mixed Media Kit. Take the Perfect Pigments Pink Sapphire add some water and then stipple of the mixture on top of your entire canvas. (make the paint a little thick so it will stipple and have some texture.)

Next choose which rice paper you would like to place on top of the canvas and add water around the edges and tear gently away. Once you have the desired look for it fit on top of the canvas use the Paint Couture white flexible paste to adhere on.

Next I inked the around the canvas & rice paper with using Memento Gray Flannel ink. I then adhered down the gilding flakes using the Paint Couture Past from the Mixed Media Kit and I also used some past from Stamperia from a previous Kit, both work great.
I also used the chipboard kit painted with the perfect pigment pink sapphire and added some gilding flakes to it. I then used some of the flowers and the fussy cut some of the pretty ephemera pieces from the February Scrapbook Kit.
Then adhere the canvas to the top of the Mini Album cover.

2 pcs chipboard cut at 5x7 inches

1 pc of cardstock 3 1/4 x 8 1/2 inches

Below I have photos of each page and I decorated each one. This one is the front flap that is adhered to the inside front cover. For each page I also added the gilding flakes to add some shimmering gold accents. The gold accents really make the colors in the flowers and embellishments pop.

For the frames I did add some foam tape to the back to give a 3D effect.

With the frames being raised you can also tuck flowers inside the frames

Here is the small note pad with a collage of ephemera on top and also has the seam binding closure.

Here is the second small note pad.

Here is the back flap that is adhered to the inside back cover.
