Hello Everyone,
I hope you all are having a great day. The holiday season is upon us and I can't believe how fast Christmas will soon be here, really just like 5 weeks away. Today's project is a Christmas Album, however I created it for my daughter to my grandson's Christmas pictures inside as it is his first Christmas. This album is really simple and easy not a lot of flips and flaps but definitely will hold lots of photos. For this album I used the Chipboard Banner Album from Clear Scraps. I have a step by step below and I have a video tutorial with more details.
Chipboard Banner Album Minis Shaker Onsie
To begin I covered the first chipboard front punch holes after you cover the front side and then cover the back side. Adhere the back pattern paper on. You can cover all the front and back pieces if you'd like but I did do some flaps and I added a couple of waterfalls inside. You can get more details by viewing the video tutorial.
Here is the reverse side of the cover piece. I will be adding a waterfall here so you will
cut 4 1/2 x 6 pieces and Score 1/2 inch on the 4 1/2 inch side. I have photo down below.
For page 3 I will be creating pockets. For the pockets I chose a paper that has borders or chose a paper with horizontal lines. On the back place 1/8th inch adhesive.
Next measure 1/4 inch space from the right and left edge. (I show more detail in video tutorial).
Once your lines are cut for your pockets place some adhesive above the top pocket and place adhesive above the second line/slit you cut.
Remove the tape backing and adhere to the chipboard page. Add in your photo mats.
Next cover the little banner. I place a 2 inch piece of pattern paper and just cut the excess paper aways from the chipboard edges.
Here is where I did the second the waterfall. Use these instructions for the waterfall both waterfalls that are in this chipboard album.
Cut 8 pieces of cardstock at 4 1/2 x 6, Score 1/2 inch with the 4 1/2 laying across the top of the scoreboard. Next add double back tape to the 1/2 inch flap, as shown below.
I added glue as well as tape to the 1/2 inch flap.
Make sure you have your page covered with pattern paper.
Next on the fold place the 1/2 inch flap down on top of your page.
Once you adhere on the first waterfall piece next do the same thing for the piece of cardstock. Be sure to line the 1/2 inch flap fold is placed right under that 1/2 inch piece that was previously adhered down.
Next I added magnets to the back and to one of the cut-apart cards on the back as this will be our closure for the waterfall.
Here is the waterfall finished with the cut-apart card the closure.
This page is behind the cover of the album. For this waterfall it will be done the same exact way but have the flaps laydown vertical, and add in the magnets for the closure.
This is the Mini Shaker Onsie. You will adhere two of the onsies together and then adhere the acrylic piece on top once your take off the film from both sides.
With plain chipboard trace it on a pattern paper, cut it out and adhere down.
Next add in your shaker bits and adhere the onsies frames down on top of the papered onsie, and the painted top frame.
Down below I'm adding photos of the completed album and the finished pages inside.
On top of the album cover I added the Mini Shaker Onsie. I decorated the front with some images I fussy cut and my grandson's name.
Here is the first pages (2 and 3) inside the waterfall behind the cover is covered with pattern paper.
The 3rd page is the pocket page we created, mats are 4x4 1/2 inches.
The 4th page has flaps on the right and left side, the middle section inside I have a 4x6 inch mat. For this page I took my xacto knife and cut around the images below the page, you can slip in the photo mat behind the image.
Here is the 4th page with the flaps closed.
Page 5 - This a side pocket I created and placed a Christmas Tree popped up with foam tape.
I placed 2 5x7 inch mats and 2 4x6 inch mats.
Page 6 on the left is another image I cut around with an xacto knife. I did fussy cut out the Santa and adhered him down by the sleigh. I placed a photo mat behind the sleigh.
Page 7 is the second waterfall I covered with pattern paper and has the cut-apart card with the magnets.
I hope you enjoyed today's step by step tutorial and found some inspiration from today's project. I have the links to this Chipboard Banner Album throughout the step by step tutorial. I hope you have a chance to head over to the shop to grab one to create and hold all your Holiday memories this year.
Thanks for joining me today.
Happy Crafting my Friends,
