My First Canvas Art

Hi all my crafty buddies,

I know this is late, but my trusty electronic friend decided to crash. Yes, my computer took the plung into darkness and left me. I am sure some of you know the chaos that causes, and you are going nuts because you can't publish your next post. : (   So my daughter has brought her computer so I get my things posted. I will have my trusty friend back in a day. :D

So on to the Midway Challenge for All Crafts Challenge, there is still time for you to join in the fun over at All Crafts. For the midway challenge I decided to try my hand at Canvas art and after watching many, many Youtube videos (ya'all know I love Youtube, lol) I thought maybe I can do this, plus I wanted something in the colors that matched my bathroom. : S (nervous face). So I tried it and after spilling paint, water and many decisions on what to do and where to place my stuff, I finished. Boy, was I exhausted, it took me half the day. I know I am really slow. (hahahaaa) I knew what I wanted to do but getting it work was a chore. It was totally a learning experience and I give kudos to those of you that do Canvas Art. You all are so creative, patient, and talented. :D I have to say after it was all done I did feel good about it and I will keep practicing. Practice makes perfect, right, or it makes it better. lol
Well here is the final result.............
My First Canvas -

** I really liked this quote**

Well hope you all like it. It looks a lot better in person than on camera. (serious) :D
Here is what I did and used - Its a 8x8 canvas covered it in gesso. I used acrylic paint gold and pool blue. Used E6000 to stick on my metal embellishments, butterflies and flowers (colored w/copics) these are from my stash. I also used Want2Scrap pearls, the wooden bird on branch I found at Michaels in the clearance section (last fall); I used TH broken china and vintage photo and Inka Gold-green yellow for the leaves. Stencil from Americana-Jacobean Floral (gold leaves) used Kwik seal (waterproof) bright white for my past it dries fast so I could paint it gold right away. I used a chip board covered with blue tissue paper used my gold stamp pad w/my filegree stamp and then placed my quote on top. I also used the gold and Filegree stamp around the edges and background of the canvas. The key my husband got for me years ago. (I don't know where) Used TE Stamp Set-Bless your Nest for the tree branches. I coated the bird in glossy accents. Last I dabbed stickles sparingly around the canvas.
