Lace It & Glitter It

Hi all,
This is the post that I have been wanting to do for a long time...showing you all a technique I learned at a Quick Quotes Event that was here this last fall in North Texas. If you are not familiar with Quick Quotes click the name to be directed to the link. They have wonderful products. :D

So during this QQ Event I was one of the helpers to show people how to do certain projects/make-n-takes. And one of the most fantastic technique's that was displayed was a lace with glitter technique. Some of you probably have seen this but I had to share it cause I just think it's just awesome.

Some of the items you need - Ultra fine glitter colored and white glitter, scor-tape or double sided tape 1 1/2 to 2 inch (the width of your lace) below are some pic's of what you need.
My card is posted below with the finished product.
Here Starts the Tutorial

** This is what the end product should look like
*** You should use a lace that lays flat can be 1 to 2 inches wide. The length is at your discretion.

***Here are some of items your need - you will need to place your glitter in little ziplock bags

***Closer pic of the glitter

***Double side sticky tape or Scortape; 1 1/2 inch strip of cardstock about 4 inches long,
but make yours as long or short as you need.

 ***Once you place your tape on the strip, place your lace on top;
Make sure to smooth the lace on the cardstock;
My lace hung over the bottom edge a little

***Once lace is securely on card place the strip in the Colored Extra Fine Glitter,
be sure to cover the entire card in the dark glitter.

***Once finished tap off excess glitter in the bag;
Use a scrap card to burnish the glitter into the lace so it sticks to the card.
 ***Start from the top, press hard and slide the card down to the bottom;
DO this 3 times
 ***After burnishing the glitter start to peel the lace off
the cardstock; Start from the top and peel downward.
**Lace may tear which is okay. To keep from tearing grab the whole top
portion of the lace and carefully work downward.

***Once the lace is off the card dip the card into the White glitter
(I used Martha Stewart), but you can used any type of White Extra Fine Glitter3

***Again you want to burnish the glitter into the cardstock;
Start at the top pressing hard all the way down; DO this 3 times.

***This is what mine turned out like after finished. I love the look you can see all the intricate lacey design.

Here is my Card with my Glittery Lace - My First Mother's Day Card for the year.

 **Close up of the Lace with Glitter
***Wanted to explain how I made the little butterfly: I took one of the crocheted flowers
I bought in a packet from Michaels wrapped red twine around the middle and tied in a knot then placed pearls on top of the twine for the body of the butterfly.

 **The inside of my card - fussy cut the butterfly from the dp I was using and
attached by the sentiment.

I apologize for the late posting of the lace tutorial, but my internet has been going off and on since this last weekend as they are doing major construction in our little town, which keeps affecting our connections. So I have to stop and then log in quit a few times.
I tried my best to describe the How To effectively for the Lace & Glitter tutorial but if you have any questions regarding the tutorial please, please just email me or leave me a comment. (stampndeb00@yahoo.com) I am going to try a video but I have to get a system set up which requires some help from my hubby and he just got back into town.

I hope you found some inspiration and use this technique to make a card. I wanted to try some other colors with this, so if any of you do this with a different color please let me know. I would love to see them. :D
Thank you for stopping by to visit me today.
Stay Crafty. :D
