Hello. Card Inspired by a Book

Good Morning,

Have you ever been inspired by a book? maybe a children's book you read when you were growing up or maybe a good book recently as an adult. Well today over at International Art and Soul the new challenge is create a card or project using a book that inspired you
For me this was a challenge but I think I did okay coming up with a card that was inspired by a book I read when I was child. (lol)  This definitely brought back some great memories.  I have also read this book to my daughters when they were growing up and to my granddaughters.
If you like children's book you gotta take a look at this one, it's a wonderful book.

Below is my card, I hope you like it. This stamp is a digital stamp I used from Stamp On It and I colored with my copics, and distress markers. I also did some paper piecing on his little night cap and book I used distress ink around him and hoping to bring light around him from the candle. I've never done this before. lol It was fun just getting to sit and play with my inks again. I hope you enjoy my take on the card I created from the book.

.

I also am creating this card based on a sketch for a challenge group below is the sketch.

Turning Green

Hi all,
Hope you are doing well. With the Covid virus upon us and everyone in a slump let's do some crafty projects to keep our spirits up. Over at International Art & Soul we are seeing "Green", LOL The intaas -  #79 challenge theme is "Use Green As Your Main Color" especially with Spring right around the corner and St. Patrick's Day coming along too.
Green is one of my favorite colors, however I don't use it very much in crafting. This challenge did take me over to pinterest to gain some inspiration.

I decided to create a card using my distress ink Peeled Paint, and I used a stamp I've had in my stash for a few years and never used. I know right, shame on me. hahhaaha
The stamp is from , I used versa mark and clear embossing powder and then inked around the image creating a light center and then going light again on the way out. After I did the inking I also used my stampendous  Fran-tage embossing powders around to give a little bit of glitter to the image. I used TH Industrious stickers, the corner pieces on the card and then used my green ribbon for my bow and backed it up with green cardstock from BoBunny, along with some black 'Thinking of you" stickers I had in my stash. Super easy peasy card took less than 10 minutes to create.

Challenges entered:
Crafter's Castle: March Challenge #27 - AG

Wishing You Comfort Sympathy Card

Hey Everyone,

Hope you all are good. I have missed blogging. I have been busy with family and other crafty stuff. 😁
But I have set some new goals this year and will be blogging more. I also will be sharing some of my past crafting items that I can't wait for you to see. 😍 I hope you tune in to check them out.

Today I am sharing a beautiful sympathy card I created using some items from my stash. We are having an Awesome Challenge over at International Art & Soul, Challenge #26 TEXTURE.
Join this fun challenge sharing your project using any type of Texture you want.

I love using Texture in my cards. I think it really adds a unique look and feel to any project even scrapbook pages.
My favorite techniques to do is to paint chipboard and play with flower soft. Here is my card using some burlap under my chipboard pieces I painted with Distress paint and added some beautiful flower soft.
The little sentiment is a cut apart I fussy cut from Photo Play's "Thinking of You" paper collection and the wooden paper behind it is from Sn@p 6x6 paper pad.
This inside of the card I used a sticker as my sentiment. This paper collection comes with sentiment stickers, which is awesome, especially if you don't have any sympathy stamps.

Supplies:
Paper: These supplies you can find here, clink on the Link -  Photo Play - Thinking Of You; Sn@p Basics 6x6 - wood & notebook
Ink: Distress Paint - Mowed Lawn
Accessories: Flower Soft, Chipboard vines from BlueFern ; piece of burlap

Thinking In Colors

Hi all,

I hope you all are having a wonderful weekend. Guess what today is??
Yep, it's a new start of a great challenge at One Stitch At A Time Ch. 272 Anything Goes with Monochromatic. I don't know about you but these cards are always so hard for me.

For this image I used my gelatos and did watercoloring on this inside of this gorgeous butterfly I did a pink to purple coloring on the top and then I used blues on the bottom. I just love this butterfly designed by Coosty Creations - Love Is To Be Free, just click on the name this will take you directly to the link. I used my copics to color the flowers and the leaves then added star dust stickles over the flowers to make them sparkle. I was going for a simple look on this card, I wanted the butterfly to be the main focus. So I enlarged the butterfly, cut my card at 5x5 and placed the butterfly right on top with 3D adhesive squares. I added a lovely lavendar satin sheer organza with satin center bow to the top of the card.

I also used the cute little Halloween Too Cute to Spook print on black grosgrain ribbon is adhered in the middle of the card.

When a Bell Rings....

Happy Sunday Morning!

I hope you all are doing well. Things are going good here. I have a new card to share with you all this wonderful morning. One Stitch At A Time New Challenge 270 Anything Goes with Lace and/or Pearls. I invite you to join us for this wonderful challenge showing us some of those beautiful laces and pearls you got in your stash.

For this card I used the sweet image created by Digi Blessings - Angel Bells.
Isn't this image just so sweet? Cute little mouse ringing a bell, and the
sentiment is just perfect. I used Spellbinders Fancy Tags for the sentiment
with stickles mercury glass and a couple of pearls.
To create the frame around the image is Spellbinders Majestic Labels 25.
I used a little gold cord to tie up the bell, so the mouse looks like he is
pulling the ribbon to ring the bell. I also used stickles crystals for the bell,
mouse wings, and halo. To color the mouse I used my spectrum nior colored pencils.
The paper is the beautiful Authentique Classic Christmas. (I showed this paper
in one of my DT Haul Youtube videos)
For the embellishments I created a lace rosette and a lace border using pearls
that are placed along the top of the lace.

I only have a little strand left. I also used the White Satin with Stitched Center
which a beautiful ribbon and comes in many different colors.

I think the reason I really like this ribbon is the

it just has a lovely shimmer affect when the light hits it just right.
